i stood pulling at my chin while squinting at a street sign. if im right, if i arrange this sign that says rogiht street, it says go right street. i tapped my foot and went left int eh fork. i walked a little further down the cobblestone road and another sign showed up along with another fork in the road. this time, it flashed a bright pink ,and it said in very obknoxious letters, “GO RIGHT”
that's funny, i laughed a little while looking at the sign, then continued left. this continued and each time i would go left, and the signs went from , “PLEASE GO RIGHT” , to, “OH HERE JUST GO AS YOU'RE TOLD.”
at the last one i stopped sighed and said, “thats not happening, i am a spry young sixteen year old girl,  and i could keep on going left alll night.”
the sign changed abruptly, “UGH FINE.”, it read.
suddenly there was a huge twister of black feathers, it dissapted almost as quickly as it had appeared and ther stood malivina. the raven demon, and deaths favorite. she folded her black clawed hands calmly and said, “greetings.”
i bowed sarcastically, and asked in my native tongue, “how heirs stomach?”
malvina smiled slightly, showing off those bright teeth of hers and commented, “you're cuasing trouble already with me?”
i laughed compliantly, “well, babushka always said my middle name should be trouble and not mpak.”
“mpak? realy you're middle names gloom?”, she asked showing surprise.
“indeed.”,i said nodding.
“that's unusual.”, she said blinking quickly, “and concernign the rabbit, he is fine. well from yoru kick that is he is a demon after all you know.”
i sighed and looked away saying in a regretful tone, “yes, i know that more so than i personally wish.”
“personally?”, malvina asked, this time, i noticed something about her. she smelled odd, kinda like …. blood? although, i suppose that cant be too uncommon for a demon? i blinked and came back to reality, my heart beat a bit faster. malvina smiled sweetly adn tipped her head to the side, “oh, you have a sharp nose don't you?”
i swallowed and noticed something i wish i hadnt. she carried a bag, which dripped steadily with a deep red liquid. malvina heaved the bag up higher and clicked her tongue, “oh, hes dripping.”
this has gotten a bit extreme, i stepped backwards and asked, “whos yoru friend there?”
she swung the bag slightly and the stream dribbled steadily. she said in a singsongy voice, “oh, just a friend,”, she stopped and looked at me innocently, “im quite sure youve met him.”
then came the dreaded moment, i swallowed and gripped my skirts fabric as she opened the bag, and pulled out an arm. she smiled and held it out to me, “you took my pets arm last time we met, so i took you're friend heirs.”
i dug my fingers into my legs and said through a stiff throat and gritted teeth, “youve gone too far.”
“oh? how so.”, she asked smiling, she threw the arm on the ground and i picked it up. the fabric of the suit was cold and wet with blood. i swallowed as i put it in the bag babushka gave me.i clcosed it quickly. malvina raised her eyebrow at me, “you're not giving me back my dear pets arm?”
“so you're the reason behidn all this trouble?”, i asked wiping my hands on a hankerchief and puttign it back in my pocket a wave of calm outrage falling over me. it covered me completely, and stuck to me like oil, slowly seeping into me, trying to control me.
malvina laughed and said cheerfully, “i suppose you could say that.”
i blinked and sighed, and said quite clearly and threateningly, “listen lady, i don't know who you are, or what grudge you have with this place, but youve just intervened in svetlana affairs. and that is something you should pray you never do in the first place.”, i summoned somethign from the bag, this time just oen specific object and hid it behind my back.
malvina scoffed, “why should i care about some gypsy scum-”
but she stopped midsentece, i had slipped a axe out of the bag and i had gouged it into her stomach. black blood dripped down her stomach and i pulled the axe out and rose it above my head in a spary of blood. i felt a few drops hit me in the face, malvina choked and fell to ehr knees as blood dripped down her legs spilling more and more. she held her wound, i imagine so as to keep her guts in her. i let the axe hang and crouched, i grabbed her face and looked at the blood dripping out of the mouth through the white pointed teeth not stained a deep red. i smiled and said inncocently while tipping my head to the side, “whats wrong, crow menuval?”, i said a insult from a launguage i had picked up when i was traveling,  a yiddish insult, nothing quite like calling someone a terrible word in a different launguage. i smirked, “you were saying something about scum? do continue.”, i said nodding, i squeezed her chin harshly and neared her face, “i dare you.”
malvina coughed up a little bit of clotted blood and whimpered with her eyebrows furrowing. i scoffed and said nearign the axe blade to her neck, “i do hate that demons heal so quickly. it means i have to fully kill you to get away. super annoying.”, i sliced her throat and she gurgled as blodo dripped down her neck. stadning up i pulled her face up with me, then let go lettign ehr drop to the ground, “advice for the future crow menuval? don't attack a svetlana, nor try to be tricky with them.”, i turned around from her and heard one final gasp, “because along with being the most coniving family around, we are also the most violent.”, i looked at her over my shoulder and smirked while i folded my hands behidn my back, “have a good day.”

  1. Fascinating, as always. Gotta say, didn't expect her to die.
Question: since she died, you've been using first person. Is there a reason you switched back to third for a couple sentences?
"Alice was beginning to feel guilty about dying. After all, her mother would have to deal with her loss. And so soon after Alice’s father had died.-I saw an old big scary tree in front of us"
It's easy to lose track of what person you're writing from, but if it was on purpose, it wasn't clear why you did it.
Looking forward to the next, of course =]

  2. sorry, I still add a bit of commentary. i should have mentioned this, the dashes, are when the person who is telling the story butts in and says something. Its pretty rare, but whenever I do that,I'm going to add dashes or something before writing it. I'm glad you are enjoying it!:)
